Was Pilates the secret training weapon of the New York Giants – the one that bagged them a surprise victory in the Super Bowl earlier this month?
The publishers of Pilates Style magazine are not claiming for a fact that it was but they are pointing out that R.W. McQuarters, cornerback of the Giants, revealed his Pilates routine to the magazine back in January 2008.
At the time McQuarters said that he took up Pilates a little over a year ago to "be flexible... The regular stretch we do on the field wasn't enough for me." He added, "I haven't had a muscle injury since I started doing Pilates. I sleep better, my hamstrings feel open, my hips are more aligned."
