Sport and Remedial Massage

Our team of friendly and highly professional therapists are trained to the highest available standard in the UK, hold professional insurance and upgrade their skills annually! We strive to maintain our knowledge up-to-speed with recent medical and bodywork developments such as myofascial work and structural integration, but we do not turn our backs to traditional approaches such as “good-old” deep tissue massage and a few helpful medical acupuncure needles.

We have recently adopted the name Soft Tissue Therapy as advised by the Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage. This has come about from the need to inform the public that our work is a far-reaching form of therapy and not a skill picked up over a weekend course.

About Soft Tissue Therapy

Sport & Remedial Massage, as it is also known, is a form of bodywork that combines general massage techniques with deep tissue work, assisted stretching, neuro-muscular stimulation and connective tissue release to help you regain and retain the health of the body’s soft tissue. Its therapeutic effect can often eradicate the need for symptom-masking painkillers and restore movement and functionality, yet it is frequently overlooked by orthodox medicine or mistaken for a pampering treat.

The treatment of sports injuries is the area most people naturally associate with Sport & Remedial massage, but these days it is increasingly and successfully used in the treatment of a broad range of conditions affecting people of all ages and from all walks of life.

A successful treatment will not only deal with the immediate source and symptom of discomfort, but aim to slow down and eventually banish its re-occurrence.

What to Expect?

You will receive the highest level of therapeutic attention from highly qualified therpists. We will advise you honestly and openly. We will not push our services, but we will advise you professionally. Our aim is to make you better and send you away 🙂

Your appointment duration includes the time needed for history taking and consultation – this forms the basis of an effective and safe treatment plan. We endeavour to maximise your massage time within the duration of the appointment chosen. We therefore advise that your First Visit be a 45, 60 or 90-minute appointment.
