What is the difference between Pilates and GYROTONIC®?
GYROTONIC® works in circular movements, and incorporates the whole body, with a continuous flow of energy, almost like a dance, moving smoothly from one exercise to the next.
Pilates, in contrast, focuses on one particular area at a time, in a slower, more controlled way.
Can I incorporate GYROTONIC® with my existing Pilates programme?
Definitely. GYROTONIC® is an excellent complement to Pilates, and a perfect way of enhancing the core strength and postural awareness gained from Pilates.
Does it strengthen my stomach, and help me to loose weight?
GYROTONIC® exercises are all based on deep abdominal work, which definitely helps us to have a firmer and flatter stomach.
More important, it helps give us a stronger support for our spine, and better posture in general.
Although GYROTONIC® works on a gentle cardio-vascular level and you are likely to notice a trimmer physique, we recommend that you combine GYROTONIC® exercises with a healthy nutritional programme if you want to lose weight.
How often should I do GYROTONIC®?
We recommended either one class a week, or one every other week if you are combining your programme with Pilates.
It really depends what you hope to achieve and the progress you hope to make.
So, the real answer is: you should discuss it with your teacher.
Do I have to be young and fit to do GYROTONIC®?
No. The GYROTONIC® method is for (almost) anyone and everyone.
It is extremely versatile. Our experienced teachers will design a programme to meet your individual needs.
