Wanda has been a complementary medicine practitioner since 2006 when she completed a certification in Reiki followed by a diploma in Swedish massage. More recently she has completed a BSc (Hons) in Chinese Medicine Acupuncture as well as a Licentiate in Acupuncture from the University of Central Lancashire in partnership with the Northern College of Acupuncture. This course teaches the theory of Chinese medicine, the safe practice of acupuncture, and significant study of Western pathology, physiology and anatomy.

Wanda has a special interest in women’s health issues, depression, anxiety, digestive problems as well as the various conditions caused by stress.

Consultation

Wanda uses a customized approach that focuses on getting the best possible results for the individual client. During a first appointment, she conducts a thorough consultation, where information about the client’s health is gathered including diet, work pressures, family as well as specific details about the principal condition or conditions to be treated.

She will then propose the best course of treatment for the client, which may incorporate massage, lifestyle advice, acupuncture, acupressure or moxibustion.

Wanda is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and, as such, is bound to abide by its code of ethics, and is fully insured.

About Acupuncture

Acupuncture is based upon a concept of circulating body energy, which is pragmatic, practical and functional. In the past twenty years, extensive scientific evaluation of acupuncture has consistently demonstrated significant effects upon a variety of physiological parameters.

This ancient therapeutic art is widely used worldwide to treat a number of health conditions. Research has shown that acupuncture can be effective in the treatment of back pain, period pain and nausea. 

Modern acupuncturists use other modalities such as moxibustion, cupping, guasha, corrective exercises, as well as lifestyle advice.

Acupuncture is carried out under the British Acupuncture Council's Code of Practice and is approved by the Blood Transfusion Services of the UK for people who wish to donate blood.

Treatment Fees

Initial consultations cost £60.00, and treatments are £50.00 thereafter.
